bemused - reappearing water from machine

hi,

first post but i can see i will be posting and answering a fair bit on here..

anyway.

my zanussi washing machine about 4 years old when emptying on a drain now has water coming up into the utility sink before very slowly disappearing back down.

i have checked all pipes and hoses , cleaned and emptied filters dismantled u bend and waste trap and even done the drain cleaner bomb....bit still it happens.
when coming back up it has what appears to be bits of softener and tablet...any clues as to where next?

you have it connected via a spiggot under the sink dont you.

simple answer is the pipe to waste (not from m/c) is partialy blocked and when m/c pumps out water cant get away quick enough

fit a stand pipe instead (or take all pipes apart and clean)

thanks for the prompt response,

that was my suspicion - that the main pipe to waste had narrowed creating a feedback..although i cant see a block or feel one....ah well thats why i have 3 star cover from scottish gas...make em work for their money
