Vermiculite Loft Advice Please !
Reply with quote Thanks

Hi, I am after some advice, moved into new home the weekend, went up into the loft yesterday to check it out and found it has vermiculite insualtion, I would like to board it just for storing and things like that. Is it best if a) remove all vermiculite (how would i do this ?) and replace with rock wool then board it b) place rock wool on top of the vemiculite and board it. C) Leave it and board it, I have never seen this stuff before and was a bot worried about it, has anyone got any suggestions please or advice !

No need to remove it.

How deep is the vermiculite? Is it like cornflakes?

What are the dimensions of the rafters that the insulation is to be laid between?

There are no issues with vemiculite, and it can remain with the quilt laid over the top.
