washing machine waste

I have plumbed in my washing machine waste pipe to a spigot on the sink trap. I have also fitted an anti siphon fitting into the pipe which drips when machine drains.Is this normal? The fitting is in a vertical position and is def. fitted right way round. Any ideas please.

The antisiphon you have used must be one that must be above the flood level. Stick it high on a branch or use a hepvo in line.
