Having removed paint from hardwood boards, the gaps were filled with lumpy paint, and thus badly affected the clean finish of the now fresh wood.

My solution was to:

1) Use the BLUNT edge of a Stanley knife, and work it back and forth two or three times between the boards, until the paint is removed, and a sharp edge is revealed. This also helps to remove any splinters.

2) Sand the gaps using the edge of a medium sanding block, thus removing the sharp edges (and any residual splinters). I haven\\\'t seen this mentioned in tips/guidelines anywhere, and really does make a difference to bare feet!

Although this yet another laborious, painstaking task to endure in the quest for the perfect floor, but, believe me, it really is worth it.
The result is straight, crisp lines, thus ensuring the boards look like new.

Anyone have any quicker methods?
