Boiler with a mind of its own ?

Combi boiler Vaillant Turbo Max Plus,heating just comes on when it feels like it.Radiator heating control on the front of the boiler and also the room therm turned down as far as it will go...any ideas?

sticking diverter valve.

Could be wired up wrong live in to pin 3. Anybody fiddled recently?

For the heating to come on when diverter valve stuck (correct me if I'm wrong) you would need to have hot water 'comfort (preheat)' in energised mode.....

If the diverter valve is sticking then its normally accompanied by getting CH instead of DHW so cold water from hot taps, but not all the time as it sometimes moves and sometimes sticks!

If boiler is in pre heaqt and the diverter valve is not shutting fully you will get warm rads or rads with a mind of their own. If in dhw mode the valve dosent shut properly you will get luke warm or no dhw and warm rads.
