Hi all,

I have a Ravenheat Combi boiler. I recently fitted a Drayton Wireless Digistat Thermosts to it (following help from this site). I got this working fine and it does the job well.

However, since I did this the hot water supply is playing up. The boiler heats the water for a minute or two and then cuts out. After approximately 20-30 secs it fires back up again.

Can anyone tell me what I have done wrong here? I have wired the thermostat into the boilers internal electrics. Is it interfering with the pump or internal stat or something?

If anyone can help I would be really grateful.

It sounds as if the plate heat exchanger ( if your unidentified model has one ) is blocked. But this would be coincidental with you fitting the room stat.

What model is it?

I think the 820 has a four pipe heat exchanger but uses a diverter valve to recirculate the CH water round the boiler only.

Its not immediately obvious to me what has happened but I wonder if its overheating and the thermostat has turned the boiler off.

Maybe the low gas rate is not operating and when it should the burner is going off?

I would suggest you visually check the connections inside the boiler to ensure nothing has been disturbed of come off?

It is that type. Check wire on the water temp sensor.
Try being nice about it, it might feel less incllined to be stroppy. ;)

I thought all the temperature sensors were phial types ???
