Triton shower tripping ELCB

My Triton T90i shower has just mysteriously started tripping the ELCB at my main fuseboard.
This happens immediately on turning on the shower at full power but oddly does not happen if the power is turned down to Medium.
I've opened the shower and saw some black dust that I suspect is from the motor but all of the wiring seems to be fine.
Any ideas?

does it happen with the shower on LOW?

most showers have a small element and a large element (low=small element, medium=large element and high=both elements) i suspect the small element has developed a fault.

Thanks plugwash, I think you're on to something there.
It doesn't work on 'low' either.

Do you know if I need a whole new Can Assembly? Have found the parts here:

Yes you need the whole assembly - it's a sealed unit.

a quick googling gets me too http://www.showerdoc.co.uk/shower-spares/triton/t90i.html, from that diagram i'm guessing the "motor" he is reffering to is the pump (yes pumped instant heat showers DO exist).
