Resurfacing enamel bath

Are there any decent, effective DIY products for resurfacing enamel baths?

Used some Cillit Bang

on mine and it's taken some of the enamel surface off.

Not really. It's a specialist job, and even some specialists seem not to meet my personal quality criteria.
