I want to install approx 5 off external wall lights and would appreciate some guidance how to go about this. Ideally I want to use dawn-dusk lights and not PIR sensored. I also want to fit a switch into this circuit. I have not attempted this and don't know where to start. Can you advise?

ok then, sorry but i had to ask.

you wire all the lights up in paralel , using 1.5mm t & e

at the first light you wire in a dusk / dawn sensor.

(comes with instructions) but basically it wants a premanent supply, and gives a switched live when its dark

the swicthed live is connected to the live of the first light

the neutral is connected to the neutral of the first light.

your incoming supply (via fcu) is conected direct to the sensor (you already have the link there for the neutral

for an override switch you connect a cable across the incoming live and the switched live

all earths should be connected together

it may be an idea to spur off a socket, via an fcu

parts:

1.5 t & e cable
suitable external lights (1000w max for sensor)
clips
1 gang 1 way switch (over ride)
patress to suit
FCU
patress to suit
dusk / dawn sensor
2.5mm cable
earth sleaving
5 amp connector block
sundries

optional:

weather proof box to mount sensor / make connections

swear box

you can get the whole lot from screwfix
