Don't know a lot but willing to learn!!

I am laying new ceramic tiles in my kitchen. The previous finish is perfectly level ceramic tiles wall to wall (under the units) I can easily take out the units to lay the new tiles to the edge of the room under the units. Is this worth doing???
Do I need to prepare the old ceramic tiled floor before I lay new tiles and what is the best adhesive and grout to use. Thanks in advance
