Hello everyone, hope someone can help.

My Honeywell ST699B seems to have failed - the display is blank and, even though teh boiler is working fine, the heating won't come on. Do I need a new unit? (By the way, I think it's an older version as it doesn't have a reset button).

If I replace it, do I need an electrician to do this? Do I have to replace with the same model? Or could I upgrade to the 7-day version - is there a lot more work involved doing that?

THanks for any advice.

The 7 day 799 just clicks onto the same backplate - eezy peezy.
You poke a wee screwdiver into the 3mm slots to release it.

replace the 3.6 volt NiMH battery

should be available from Maplin or similar outlet

thought the battery was purely a settings back up?, pretty sure youd struggle to replace the original batteries on these...those big barrell shaped ones.

wrong and wrong
Do elaborate.
The battery died on mine about 17 years ago and it still works.
Obviously it wasn't a NiMH battery.
Perhaps something changed with the B version? Can't swear to which exact model mine is.
