noisy radiator

I have a combi boiler and when i put the central heating on after 1 hour a whistleing/loud noise comes from the radiator in the bedroom ive tried bleeding it but their seems to be no air in their. if i turn the radiator of the noise stops idont know how to fix this problem and would be very greatful if anyone could help. :confused:

I think perhaps you have a thermostatic Radiator valve on the rad you mention.

As it comes up to temp it closes down.

The noise is probably the water pressure squeezing through the nearly-closed valve.

You will probably find you can stop the noise either by opening the valve a bit, or closing it, to take it away from the "almost closed" position.

If you like to do a little light plumbing, change the valve or fit it to the other end of the rad, which would fix it.

You could try turning down the pump speed or partially closing the valve at the other end of the rad (it may have a plastic cap over the spindle) to reduce the flow (this will make the rad slower to heat up)
