Right I have a problem with some cold rads:

The rad in the Lounge, the one in the Hall and downstairs bathroom are stone cold. However, the rads in the dining room, conservatory and 2 in the kitchen on the same floor get hot.

All the rads upstairs apart from 2 in the upstairs extension get hot, the 2 in the extension get warm.

I can feel and hear the pump operating and I have tried to bleed all the radiators (a small amount of air came out of one of them). What can I try next?

If the rads have trvs on them check the spindle isn't stuck in the closed position. Unscrew the top of the trv to get to it. Either hit it with a hammer and punch or be a bit more gentle and pull it up with a pair of pliers.

Ok have done that, I have also turned off the working radiators. One of the cold ones gets properly hot, one gets half hot (the top of it is hot the bottom is cool) and the other one is stone cold still, even the pipes up to it are cold.

Try turning all the rads off, then turn 1 non working one on, until it starts working. Repeat for the other rads. Could be an air lock (especially if you have drained the system recently, or blocked pipes (especially if you have microbore pipework). Don't recommend hitting anything with a hammer though, although the valve could be stuck.
A rad that is hot at the top and cold at the bottom suggests sludge, which could also be blocking the pipes. If you are able to, removing the rads and taking them outside to manually flush out with a hosepipe is not a bad idea, but won't help with the blocked pipes. However, if the blockage isn't too bad, running the rads one at a time, the pump may be able to move the blockage to the rads (which can then be cleaned out as mentioned above).
