Hi,

I've removed a radiaitor so I could remove the skirting board. I didn't drain the whole system, simply isolated the radiator at each end with the valves. I've fitted the radiator back but would like some advice as the best way to re-fill it with the best chance of avoiding any air-locks. Should I simply open the valves on each end and let it fill with cold water or is it best to put the central heating on and then try and fill with the air vent removed and put the airvent back in when water appears.

cheers for any advice

Turn system off so that there is no pump running. Open the valves and vent the rad. Supposedly when a pump is running and you vent a rad it can actually suck in air opposed expelling it.
