Hi,

Any help given would be appreciated. I have a Bosch Worcester 240 gas combi boiler. I guess it's around 10 years old. ( i have been at residence for 8 years and it was newly installed).

I have never had any problems except a slight ticking, which never really bothered me and am not sure if it is connected ( i always assumed it was related to the timer/clock).

Anyway last night hot water just stopped, CH works fine and even when heating is on the hot water barely warms up a few degrees from cold.

Have had a new bathroom (including radiator) installed about a month ago, not sure if this has any relevence.

I intend to call a plumber- i have no intention of trying this myself, would just like a rough idea of whats the fault is so i can trust what the guy says. These house of horror programs make us all suspicious ;o).

thanks

Thanks for that,

Can't identify which model it is other than a 240, even had a look inside and can't find anything.

A bit more information:

the pressure is 1 bar
just before it packed in i noticed i had to turn the hot water tap a bit further to get it to kick in.

Don't know if this makes it any clearer, probably should have included them initially.

Thanks again for your help )

if you have to turn the tap on harder to get it to work it is most likely the rubber diaphragm in the diverter valve is burst.

cant remember what the 240 model looks like inside but if its anything like the 28cdi model its not a diy job but any plumber or heating engineer will do it no problem

No its a piece of cake, diverter facing you on left hand side. Just hold the body on the rhs fitting when you undo the nut to prevent it leaking.

result ollski......not worked on the 240 for a while and cant remember what the thing looks like inside
