I need to get some thermal paste suitable for a boiler thermistor (dry fitting). Is the stuff you use on CPU heatsinks suitable for this job? You can get variants with max temp ratings anywhere between 130C and 200C. If it is suitable, what type is best, e.g., silver or silicone?

Thanks.

Potterton Suprima flow pipe, so max temp should be mid 80s

Any thermal paste will do, you aren't looking for super-quick response.
Max temp ever would be about 120º in a sealed system on overshoot.
