Now the cold snap has returned our heating is back on. Unfortunately, our boiler is intermitently failing to light, this appearing to be as a result of a loss of pressure. Whilst allowing additional water into the system works for a little while, ultimately the problem returns. What may be the cause ??

If you are losing pressure you either have a leak which could be through the PRV or anywhere in your system
OR
your PV is cream crackered
You dont state the model and age of your boiler but there is probably a low pressure switch in there which switches everything off once the pressure gets below about 0.7 bar
