Hi

I have a Gloworm 75 Compact, it is about 6 years old and this will be the second winter that I have had a problem with the heating and water working at the same time. Last winter the outer casing was removed and also the front inner casing, the heating and water seemed to work. I was then told for obvious reasons that this was not safe so the casing was replaced.

All through the summer with the heating switched off the water has run hot. Over the last few weeks since the heating has been switched on the water has run hot intermittently.

Today the problem has got worse, the boiler is clicking on and off and not reaching the thermostat temperature of 20 or even when I turn it down. I have tried running a hot bath all day and the water is not even getting warm

Does anyone have any ideas if this is a problem that can be fixed or has the boiler had it?????

Thanks
Kelly

Anything can be fixed, for much less ££ than a new boiler. Inermittent faults are difficult to diagnose even when in front of the thing though.

If you turn the hot tap on, does the boiler fire up, does the water get hot?
Is the hw better if the CH is on?

Small technical question

Is it a 75E (which i know a bit about)
or a 75P(which I don't know so well)

If its an E, then I can point you in the right direction...I think

First of all thank you for your ideas and sorry for not replying sooner but would you believe that my PC has been playing up and I haven't been able to log on!!

So, I now have no hot water at all, the heating is working but something is clicking on and off all the time and I am at my wits end.

It is a 75P so any more ideas?

Thanks

You could connect the CPU heatsink to the CH circuit - kill two birds with one stone, so to speak
