Hi all, any help or advice would be much appreciated.
Moved into my house a couple of months ago, it has a microbore heating system.
One of the nuts that connects the heating water pipe to the radiator valve is split and is leaking / slowly dripping water.
My question is, how easy is it to replace this nut? will the pipe be flared so i will need to cut the pipe to remove the nut or is there likely to be an olive making the seal between pipe and raditor valve.
obviously i need to drain the system, i was also going to flush the system as one of the downstairs rads doesnt work / get hot. i have tried bleeding it but it has made no difference.
also one of the pipes looks corroded. Would it be bossible to cut the pipe and then fit a slightly larger pipe ove r it to stop it leaking in the future.
finally whilst doing this work i was going to replace the radiator valves with thermostatrically controlled ones, any advice on these?
