I am about to order some porcelain tiles but i would like to know how good they cut first. I was thinking of hiring a large bench tile saw from HSS.
They said that the blade would cut them, but could ask your tile supplier for a membrane to go on top, to stop them from cracking.(is this a common problem)

If the blade will cut them, do the tiles not want to brake the edges off when cutting the last inch or so.
I am not cutting many tiles, just inside the shower.

Hope someone can give some advice.

You can cut porcelain tiles with a reasonable quality manual tile cutter or one of the smaller electric wet cutters. Personally I cut with the manual unless its a double cut then do one with the wet and the other with the manual cutter as its quicker and cleaner.

Jason gives god advice.
I'm not tiling anymore, but when I was I had little use for a wetsaw - just a decent blade in an angle grinder did 99% of all my requirements.

The tiles we have seen are 600mm x 300mm. So would the size cause any problems. They probally would not fit in a manual cutter. I will have to go for the small electric.
Thanks for your coments
