anti-gravity valve

Can anyone explain what is the exact function of the anti-gravity valve situated near my boiler, and of the diverter valve inside the boiler?

What symptoms occur if either is not working?

May they be dismantled and serviced (or replaced) easily,

its to stop the rads heating up when you only need hot water.

Lots more info on the boiler and type of system would be good.

Whats the divertor valve connected too.

Where is the anti-gravty valve fitted.
