I'm installing a wetroom as a new bathroom in an extension to the house.
Is it better to run pipework and shower pump up and round the attic space and down, rather than under the floor and up, in case maintenance work is required. Or am I being overcautious?

Either. If they're installed competently, neither route would normally be a problem.

If you use continuous lengths of plastic then you won't have any joints to worry about.
