Hi

We have had a Worcester greenstar boiler for around 9 months now and have never been happy with the heat of the hot water. It runs a power shower but no bath.

We never have to use any cold water for washing up, bathroom sink or in the shower, the shower is always turned on to the hottest point but is not hot enough.

We have had the installer back and also contacted Worcester but all they say is the temperature is preset to 55C but no way is the water anywhere near that hot.

Does anyone have any advice on this, is this normal with combi boilers or is there likely to be a problem they have not sorted? The boiler fires up ok for both heating and water, the heating is fine it is just the hot water not being very hot.

Thanks for any suggestions.

You need to measure the hot water pipe coming out of the boiler.

What is the flow rate?

Did you say power shower?, on a combi?

Sorry, I'm confused. Does your installer say that the boiler is producing water at 55°C, or that it's designed to?

As scatmanjohn has already said, you need to measure the temperature that the boiler is producing, and tackle your installer with that information.

Not just the temperature but the flow rate as well!

The boiler provides a certain amount of heat. You can either have a high flow rate of lukewarm water or a low flow rate of hotter water!
