l am tileing a bathroom wall and l am putting mirror tiles in with them. The mirror tiles have self adhesive pads for the walls, but not enough to put them flush with the ceramics. The mirror tile notes say do not use other adhesives as they can harm the silver layer. l was going to pack the mirror tiles out with tile adhesive but having read this and then phoning the adhesive manufactors l decided against this.So what could l use to stick the mirror tiles to wall and mirror as they will need packing out do to uneven walls. The mirror tiles are 15cmx15cm.. 6 of, and 30cmx15cm...4 of. What about no nails would this stick.l need something that will stick and not show through.

more sticky pads?

problem as i see it is that any adhesive may eat the backing

can you not "plaster" the square to raise its depth? so it will be lvel when mirror tile fitted.

other thing damp behind mirror tile may lift off the finish.

you could try a dollop of genuine silcone on an odd tile and leave it for a while to see what happens

breezer, l don't have a mirror tile spare to test .Also more sticky pads would not work as the wall is un even so l would never get a even looking mirror. It has got to have some dollop of adhesive which will stick and not eat away at the back of the mirror. l was thinking of no nails, or something like that. Any idea's.

i wouldn't be inclined to use a volatile solvent based adhesive like gripfill, but say a water soluble acrylic based maybe. sticks like s**t may also be an option. as breezer has said, a silicon neutral curing adhesive maybe less aggressive but very sticky.

go to glaziers. they will sell mirror adhesive, which is similar to gripfill but wont affect the coating.

As thermo says use proper mirror adhesive, it will also hold the tiles more rigidly than pads if you intend to grout around the mirror tiles. I use it when fitting large mirrors flush to wall tiling.
