Hi..hope someone can help otherwise our new bathroom is scuppered..

Having just demolished an unused cupboard to increase the size of the bathroom and move the bath about four feet along the wall we have discovered two pipes running from the ceiling down into the floor right where the bath is meant to go...
We live in an area (in Thetford) where they ran out of copper during the seventies whilst building the houses and resorted to using this polyyork plastic piping in 22mm and 15mm.. trouble is that once the shortage was over it apparantly stopped production and finding the parts has become a nightmare.
Can anybody pleeeeese point me in the right direction to get hold of a minimum of seven polyyork to copper fittings so we can get these pipes rerouted?

I hope I've made the problem clear enough.. :?:
Any help greatly appreciated
Cheers and a happy new year

Andy

try drain centre
the nearest one to you i found is

DRAIN CENTER
GODDARD ROAD EAST
WHITEHOUSE ESTATE
IPSWICH
01473 745984

they usually keep a good selection of poly stuff

 if it is 22m & 15mm then why not use hep2o http://www.hep2o.co.uk/
or polypipe http://polypipe.com/POLYPIPE/pp_html/main.html
or speedfit http://www.speed-fit.co.uk/linkpages/TechSpec14.htm
all though you are not meant to mix fittings it normally works dont forget you will need inserts
try plumb centre http://www.plumbcenter.co.uk/plumb/index.html for the fittings also if you use inserts, normal compression fittings can be used (also wrap ptfe arround olive)

ps B & Q normally sell these fittings of the shelf

The pipe I have is black.
The measurments are not exact, ie, I held a tape measure up behind it so the 22mm could be 21 or it could be 3/8"

Thanks very much for the replies though.. it's given me something to go on, plus I've found an archive post asking a similar question so that might provide further info too.

Thanks again...any more help greatly appreciated.
Cheers

call them

Philmac Universal Transition Coupling ..........bulky but a good`un ;) made in Sussex so must be good

I know ya getting lots of different options but the safest bet is to ring preston industrial plastics to c if there,s a supplier near 2 u & if not order the fittings off them .job done properly no problems. there's a special solvent u must also use .i think they stock the 1/2" fittings but also a glue in bush incase u have 3/8" the cheapest way is to buy 1/2" tapconnectors & a 1/2" -15MM male iron to copper & the 3/8" to 1/2" bush. PS you cant turn the water back on for several hours after glueing.

And even then be bloody carefull with it as the solvent makes the pipe brittle.
