We have mains cold water supply to existing basin and bath. Can we use this on single hole mixer taps by Hudson Reed. or must we install a new separate cold water pipe from the tank.

yes you can you will need to find out where the water mixes, if it mixes in the body of the tap you will need a check valve on the cold supply.
to find out look up the spout if you see two sections your ok.
if in doubt fit a check valve anyway for what they cost
