Valve Leaking ...

Which part is it ?
I have two valves on either side of a radiator that are leaking. I have dried it all off and both of them leak from the same spot.. The very top of the valve - what is the technical term for this - as you talk about fixing olives, spindles, coupling but don't know what this terminology relates to !

packing gland by your description.
to be honest I have never yet been able to effect a long lasting repair on a rad valve usually last a couple of months then come back and change the thing anyway.
