i have replaced the head of the mv for the hot water, however it does not fully operate, whereby it starts then stops if i give it a tap on the side this helps sometimes but is not a solution, i have tried moving the head as i understand that i may not have it central but still no joy, any help would be obliged

When u say u changed the head of a mv do u mean u changed the syncron motor in a moterised valve head.What make of valve is it. if old or has ever had water in it .it may need a little oil to let it run better or there could be a fault with the micro switch. If u have changed the whole head it maybe the spindle in the body that requires freeing up.
thanks i will give it a try, the make is honeywell and yes its the sync that i changed
