Loft cleaning

Loft cleaning

Before we can insulate our loft we have to remove large amounts of crumbly mortarlike material that has dropped down from beneath the slates, its 6inches deep. Can you recommend the most efficient way to do this, I was thinking of some sort of industrial vacuum with a long hose.
