siemens washing machine - plumbing

Hi there, please can someone help. I bought a siemens washing machine heavily discounted in john lewis clearance. Now its come I can't plumb it in! It has one of those aquafill fittings, which according to the manual needs to be fitted with a cold water tap facing downwards or maximum 90 degree angle. However, my flat has standard washing machine fittings and they face up! Is there anything I can do to make them compatible? Cost is a bit of an issue here, i'm in a housing association flat so not sure if am allowed to alter the fitting, and as a single parent can't afford the expense of a plumber at the moment. Help!

Without actually looking I can't tell exactly. I don't really recommend it, but you could fit a new self fitting one from B&Q and not use the existing one. Although you could do this it would reduce the flow/pressure, so really you would need a plumber to correct it
