I have what appears to be a common problem on a Hotpoint WD640 Super Silent Washer Dryer.

The machine worked fine for about a year and a half, now water gushes from the soap tray on the spin cycle.

Ive checked the drain outlet - its not blocked, and taken out the pump and opened it up for blockages; all fine too.

Ive seen many other people with the same problem on this site, but solutions given werent very specific.

Ive seen someone mention the black hose from drum to pump may be blocked, something about a filter and something about a broken door seal. Anyone have any ideas about this problem &what might fix it?

Cheers,

The thing is there should be no water in the drum when the machine starts its spin cycle it should have been pumped away at the end of the last rinse/spin cycle before fast spinning starts.Check for partial blockage in the sump pipe/filter which will give a delayed time in emptying the tub causing too much water still in the tub as it goes into fast spin.
