What is brown paper?

Is this like paper that is used for brown paper bags? I am in Ca and that term is not familiar to me.

Yes it is, I tried to find out more about Brown Paper, but drew a blank.

I think it is more likely the heavier stuff used for wrapping parcels.

Jim was always @ the drug store getting vittels in a brown bag ...bloody things are twice as thick as our wrapping paper

oh yeah, it has medicinal uses too .......when used with vinegar, you can mend your head with it

In that case, why wasn't it used on poor old Humpty? Is it not available on the NHS, but only through BUPA?
