I need to turn off gate valve but it is impossible to turn even with spanner. Is there a way of freeing it ? |

If it`s that stiff don`t touch as it will prob snap in the closed position then it will definetly have to be changed... |

Try undoing the gland nut round the shaft first - might help. |

Gate valves, need to be turned off and on every two or three months. Limescale may be onside stopping it fom moving, what you may need to do is tighten a little to dislodge the limescale, then try again to loosen the Gate Valve, if this don't work you may need to fit a new one. |
