gate valve stuck

I need to turn off gate valve but it is impossible to turn even with spanner. Is there a way of freeing it ?

If it`s that stiff don`t touch as it will prob snap in the closed position then it will definetly have to be changed...

Try undoing the gland nut round the shaft first - might help.

Gate Valve Stuck

Gate valves, need to be turned off and on every two or three months. Limescale may be onside stopping it fom moving, what you may need to do is tighten a little to dislodge the limescale, then try again to loosen the Gate Valve, if this don't work you may need to fit a new one.
