2 lights 1 switch

please help. fitting 2 new wall lights, and both cables have 3 core and earth, black,brown,grey and earth. how do you wire them in.the wall lights only have 3 conectors, black brown and earth

test to find which one does what. not very helpfull i know but without seeing how its been wired into the switch/JB etc its a job to say

Please can you elaborate, were there working fittings there before?
Black, Brown and Earth sounds like an odd combination too, are they labelled? Are they edison screw?
