Trimming Venetian Blind slats?

Thanks Masona.

I haven't even attempted cutting them yet because I've seen some 50mm slat blinds in a specialist shop that I prefer the look of, the wider slats mean they are spread further apart allowing more light through.

I'm now looking into buying these blinds however they are often sold only made to measure so I'm looking into these cost wise. I've found some on ebay who have quoted me £190 and £228 however they both have feedback of around 10. The next cheapest but much more reputable sellers are around £260 and upwards.

So I'm still researching and looking for advice particularly of sellers of these 50mm blinds. I have actually seen 2 short 50mm blinds in dunelm although they are not a continual line! and in a less popular colour.

So I'll look again tonight and tomorrow.

Thanks

You can get a cutter from Ikea, its £2.99 and cuts theslats to size! They are next to the blinds. Its like a small cutter with a measure attached. Really simple and effective!

I've seen the cutter from Ikea and have bought the dunelm one. Both of them are for cutting the plastic and aluminium blinds. They don't actually have a blade so would I expect squash the wood and indent it but highly unlikely to cut it especially not smoothly. However if you've got the appropriate blinds it must make trimming them a fairly easy task.
