Sink waste

Hello,

The sink waste pipe from my internal kitchen has a vent running off it which runs up the kitchen wall through the lounge into the bathroom back down the wall and out the building into the downpipe (it's a tenament flat). Can something else be used to vent the sink waste, is it necessary?

ta.

You could dispense with the vent pipe altogether if you use an antisyphon trap, or a hepv0 trap.

Cheers for the responses icon_smile.gif
Pipe in 40mm (I think), I'll have a look in to the traps, a hepvo just connects in line with the waste right? is there a problem with blockages?
