Hi can anyone help? i have a fronty 2.3 deisel which is complaining about starting when cold, i have had the glow plugs changed and the problem is still there, the heater plugs are working correctly as they are taking 70-80 amps when they are switched on. Once the engine has started and warmed up it will be fine all day,oh and before all this the glow plug like has been flashing intermittenly, has anyone any ideas as all will be greatful, many thanks, jim.

I know you said you changed your glow plugs but it sounds like this is your problem , Might be worth checking all the connections that go to your four plugs ie clean them up remove rust and make sure their tight !

I had a problem like this and after i changed my plugs and a good clean sorted the problem

just had a similar situation with my berlingo, started great in a morning any weather, could hear the heater plug relay click on/off, but the rest of the day, not a chance until i spun it for 30/40 seconds, citroen tried to sell me plugs, said no thanks, if it starts in zero temp, in ain't the plugs.

So, i took the relay off the van, the three/four spades were oxidised, quick clean, opened my relay to give the points a quick flick to knock any sh*te off, put it back together and bingo, back on the road

I know it does not account for why your plugs where drawing 70/80 amps, but it also does not explain my mine wouldn't start later in the day.

give it a go, cost zilch.

Had similiar problem with my frontera ,turned out to be the heater relay, before you buy one as they are expensive check that the heater light is staying on for the correct time,I rewired mine using an old escort relay to eliminate it,then went to the local breakers, the 2.3 engine is fitted in the cavalier and if you find on it will be about a third of the price
