im painting some newly plastered walls and so far have only applied a mist coat.

anyway now my partner has brushed painted 2 large meter squares of samples on my misted coat.

she brushed the paint on really thick with deep brush marks.

i have rollered another coat over it but the brush marks are still there.

i have tried sanding it flat but it will take ages.

is there a quicker solution??

thanks gav

scraper.

And bury her under the patio

otherwise let her put samples on big pieces of paper and blu-tak them up.

Why isn't she the one sanding them smooth?

(show her this)

thanks john, yes the patio sounds like a great idea.

right i best get scraping.

i have shown her your post and she says "i was only trying to help"

lol anyway thanks for the tip :)

If the paint is fresh it may come off easily. You can wet it, that can help, thick emulsions seems to "stretch" when wet.

If it's really hard, mix washing up liquid with meths and wet it with that.

Use 240 grade wet and dry it will flatten down in no time

Cut a strip off and let it soak in water first or it might crack

Wrap it around a block of wood and keep it well lubricated by dipping it in a bucket of warm water

Wear a pair of gloves...

thanks for your help everyone. i decide to try zampas method first and it worked a treat with a little elbow grease added.

:)
