Hoover quattro 1400 WE145-001 drum does not turn

Hi had some good feedback a couple of years ago with a fault but now think machine is beyond repair.

When on a washing or drying cycle the drum does not turn, so am I to assume the motor that drives it is faulty or could it be something else?

Personally I think a new machine will be needed but would be grateful for any suggestions as to what could be wrong

First thing to check - Take the motor out and check the carbon brushes.

Thanks for that I have managed to take them out and one was dull and the other was still fairly clean so will try and change them although struggling to find them on the internet will probably have to go through main hoover company

its not the coulor its the length, should be around 3+ cm
