Help!!! Ive just been quoted for £800 to replace a 10ft by 8ft flat roof. This seems a bit steep...or am I livin in la la land? Is that about right?
The price is inclusive of replacing the boards underneath, the facias etc.

I replaced a flat roof of approx the same size last year using cold lay. I also replaced the boards. Materials were around £300 and it took 3-4 days, so i woul say it sounds about right, especially if you are in the London area.

seriously, this is about right for the work involved. anything under a £1000 would be acceptable.

This is a good price as long as the materials & workmanship is quality. Hot bitumen, High performance felt & lead flashing should be used and keep away from the torch on unless its a new build with no hidden cavities under your roofing deck.

I had a reasonable quote from permaroof.co.uk they use a rubber membrane made by Firestone that has a 20 year warranty which appealed to me. Obviously i took them up and they did an excellent job.

I know its a bit of a lump of money to find when a flat roof goes, but at least with this system ive gone with, its now sorted for good.

hope this helps
