vokera dhw problem

im having the same problem as many other people with a vokera which is that the dhw gets to a certain temp then cuts out, reading through other posts it suggests either a DHW heat exchanger or a secondary heat exchanger, is there a difference between these or just different terminology?

Ok try this run hot tap & go to boiler to identify filling valve (black lever on rhs underneath) When main burner shuts off immediately switch lever anticlockwise to 09:00 position whil observing temp on blr display. The boiler now displays blr temp instead of dhw temp if it is around 90 degrees then your plate heat is probably blocked if it is a lot lower than that then suspect thermister problem

i have just tried what you suggested and the boiler reading read 75.
if you think it could be the thermistor then which one and where would it be located?

Remove case dhw thermister is on rhs @ top behind a black rubber sleeve gc part no e00-545

is that part (e00-545) the same item as part number 8484? also do they have different coloured ends for different thermistors?

Thermistors come in different packages so some would fit and others will not.

The sensing element inside also comes in different resistance values so you have to fit the correct one for the boiler.

Next they come in either positive or negative temperature coefficients.

If you wanted to get more technical the elements also come with different temperature response curves as well.

e00-545 is the GC number......8484 is vokeras number but you will need to check if this the right one.

the same thermistor comes in a variety of colours just to confuse matters even more.

most were blue but ive seen red and black for these too.
