Was given a lovely lampshade. Know how to wire a plug. However, the light bulb fitting takes two wires. Which wires? And what do i do with the third? Sorry, I hope this is clear enough. Not sure of electrical jargon. Thank you. |

Most houses are wired in what's commonly known as a 3 plate system. Atthe ceiling rose, you'll have 4 connections. Loop, Switched live, Neutral and Earth.
The switched live tends to be a black wire that has a red sleeve or tape over it to signify that its a live wire. This wire connects to your brown wire on your pendant light fitting flex.
The blue wire on your pendant flex connects into the terminal with all the other black wires (Neutral).
Hope that helps? |
