Yes you should always have an earth wire at each point of your circuit for testing purposes.

Unless you use single in conduit, there will always be a cpc in the cable. Unless you have some cable left over from pre 1966...

Sleeve the cpc and terminate, if possible. Whatever you do, don't snip it off...

There is no earthing point inside the bulk heads as they are all plastic and no earthing point inside the switches.

So just cover the exposed earth wire with green and yellow sleeving and screw it into a single choc block to keep it safely hidden behind the switch/ lamp.

Exactly, just terminate your cpc's into a con block and tape it up for safety icon_smile.gif

Please dont tape it up.

There is no need, and I hate getting my fingers covered in the sticky residue it leaves behind.

Here is my tip - why not try using heat shrink sleeving over the cpc? That is what I did when I was wiring a plastic bulkhead.

What purpose would that serve?

well it covers the cpc safely. It isn't good practice to cut the core! icon_wink.gif

Do they make green & yellow heat-shrink? Because if not it's a bit pointless putting heat shrink over the core and then needing to sleeve it for identification purposes...

Surely earth sleeving is designed for this? and then pop a strip connector on the end of the CPC to provide a convenient point to carry out EFLI testing.

Not sure if 'they' make it, but 'SWA' (specialised wiring accesories) do icon_lol.gif

How does that make it safe?

Tape should be banned - far too many people use it for pointless tasks. It is used as a tool, not an installation item.

And who said heat shrink? Another pointless and OTT recommendation. Just sleeve the earth and terminate into a term block. Either the lights or switches could be changed in the future.
