I want to know the steps which shoukd be taken before replacing a blown fuse in a plug

(1) Why did it blow? Was equipment damaged.
(2) Check appliance lead for damage.
(3) Check plug wiring. Cable sheath should be clamped properly by two screws near outlet. Ensure live as short as possible, some slack on neutral and earth.
Tighten lead connection and clamp.
(4) Check fuse holder clean with no soot.
(5) Replace with correct rating fuse 3A up to 750W and 13A higher.
(6) If you have a meter, ensure unplugged appliance is switched on. Check appliance live conducts to neutral wire. Check appliance earth isolated from live and neutral in lead.
