Hi
Mum & Dad just bought new electric hob and electric double oven.

They both have seperate radial circuits with 6mm cable, protected at the cu by a 32 amp fuse. They will each have their own 32 amp double pole switch to control them. Is this ok?

They are made by Electrolux and the manual says to connect to the switch using 'H05BB-F Tmax' cable. Can we use the 6mm cable instead?

Connecting to the hob itself. There are 4 terminals marked L1, L2, N and PE. Whilst N and PE are pretty self explanatory does the live go to L1 or L2? I ask this as the back of the hob is slightly different to the manual description on their serviceforce website. The model number is EHS6610K if this helps.

Any help greatly appreciated thanks

L1 AND L2. You need to bridge the 2 connections. Most hobs are like this now. It should have come with a small metal U in the "bag of bits" that comes with most things.

you got the euro version of the hob...

L1 and L2 are for if the supply is 2 phase, as used a lot aroad..

there should be a link between them, either a copper bar or a wire etc..

if not then you'll need to put one in..

same cable size..

wiring instructions are on page 21...

Thanks for the speedy replies! Much appreciated!

Can't see a link and there isn't a small metal U in the bag.

So, just to clarify, can we use the 6mm cable to connect the hob and and link L1 and L2 using the 6mm cable?

Forgot to mention that the cable going to the hob is 10mm cable, not 6mm as previously stated. Can we use 6mm cable to connect the hob to the switch? Does this affect the mcb at the cu?
