New Bib Taps old sink
Reply with quote Thanks

HI, i have just purchased two new bib taps to fit an old ceramic sink. The thickness of the sink structure is about 4.5 mm and the tails on the taps are a standard 5mm which does not give me enough rom to fit the securing nut and then fit a screw fit flexipipe to the water supply.
What do you suggest?
Thanks.

that never even crossed my mind. The sink is an old school type sink that i remember washing paint brushes in for days upon end.
I will look into that course of action.. if not any other ideas?

Many thanks.

you can get a brass tail extender, with 1/2" BSB female on one end and male in the other.

I find the problem odd, though, as taps usually seem to have great long tails on them.

Are your measurements right? 5mm is less than a quarter of an inch.

50mm = 5cm is nearly two inches.

sorry, the sink is 45mm thick and the tail is 50mm in length.

with the plastic nut supplied there is no room to get anything on the visible thread.
