Fence post anchoring in existing concrete block retaining wall.
I would like to replace a post that was anchored via a (now eroded and broken) embedded L-shaped steel brace in a concrete block retaining wall. How to I embed another steel brace in the wall without damagining the retaining wall? |

Here are two suggestions:
a) Saw off old bracket. Drill (bore) a 1 3/4 inch hole in concrete approx. 10 to 12" into top of wall. Install and Epoxy a 1 3/8" galvanized pipe into hole. Drill a 1 3/8 hole using ships auger into bottom of post. Approx. 10 to 12" deep. Drop post on pole. Your done.
b) Saw off old bracket. Drill a 3/8" hole approx 6" deep into concrete. Expoxy a threaded foundation bolt into wall. Use a Simpson Strong Tie "U" bracket and bolt in place. |
