Please can someone advise me how to take a Mixer Tap apart to change a washer. I have levered off the cap, taken out the screw but cannot see how to proceed further, help greatly appreciated. [/b]

Craig thanks for your interest in the problem I am having with a mixer tap, I have now managed to remove the tap handle from the spline. now in order to change the washer do I undo the brass nut below the spline and if so should it normally turn to the left ?.
I don`t know what make or model these taps are.
many thanks,
