accidentally disconnected dimmer switch from wall

Please help me reconnected my dimmer switch box back to the correct wires...the box has 2 black wires and one red....the red one is still connected to a grey one.....this is what i have ......
in the wall...................
3 white, 3 grey
( 1 grey connected to the red, 1 grey disconnected, and 1 white disconnected )

in the box....................
2 black, 1 red

( red connected to the grey, both blacks disconnected )

Please help...im afraid to touch it cause im not sure if I have the right breaker off...but im willing to finish what i started, and by NO MEANS do i want my huband messing with it!!! Please Help!!!

This is mainly a UK forum and your wiring methods may be different over the pond. You may get a better response if you ask on an American based forum.

i'd guess you should connect the two loose wires from the dimmer to the two loose wires you have hanging from the wall. I doubt it matters which way arround.
