External Cabling (depth)

I have finally got hold of some 6mm SWA cable to run from the house to the shed (30m) and now awaiting the sparky to do the wiring. Anyway, the problem is that I have recently turfed the garden and dont fancy digging up my nice new turf for a trench to lay the cabling. Saying that along the side of the garden are conifirs and therefore could i run the cable along the ground/the back of the conifirs by the trunk of the trees?
